  • I’m coming home............

I’ve been away from the game for a year and finally got a friend to buy the game. My question: how do we play together without me losing my progress skills and weapons? Can I run through the story with him?

Should I join him? Should he join me?

Also, Can I start a new character? If so how?

Lastly, please be as detailed as possible; I’m really feeling lost in the game.

    Thanks

Join him with the character youve already created. Progress is tracked by person. So if you were to join him you'd have all our skills progress and inventory. And you could help him thru the game. I did it for my buddy when he finally got the game. I hope this helps as I'm a little drunk posting this. Good luck and good night sir.

Hello Getmused! There's not much I can say that hasn't been said already. When joining someone to play with them, if you join them then you will be in their 'world' essentially - and therefore be helping them to complete the story on their save. If they join you, you'll be doing the campaign on your save. In short, when completing the game together, only one of you will actually be progressing. You'll still be levelling up and getting loot, however you are not in your world, so you are not completing your own missions. Anyway, nevertheless it's extremely fun to play through the game with someone and I encourage you to do so! I hope I've helped you, and I hope you enjoy Dying Light once more. Good night, and good luck.

I finally got to join my friend but I had to create a new save on normal mode. I’ll try again tonight.

Thanks for the replies I believe my friend was hooked last night. I told him the game is just starting. I don’t know if I should speed him through or let him experience the game. I really want to run around in nightmare to get the rest of my 250 levels.
